POSITION SUMMARY:

PART TIME (15 hours a week from September through May. Some summer hours will be required).

The Director of Development is responsible for the development, coordination and leadership of fundraising campaigns, management of donor information, special events, planned giving (Annual Giving), the Auction, capital fundraising and endowment campaigns. The Director oversees efforts to cultivate and steward existing and prospective donors and coordinate efforts with other members of the staff and board to increase the overall fundraising success and sustainability of the School.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the school mission and ensure the development and implementation of strategic plan components related to promoting a culture of philanthropy.

Build a long - term relationship with current parents/guardians, alumni and major donors through ongoing communications and engagement activities such as newsletters, annual reports, events, etc.

Institute administrative and operational systems for resource management related to fundraising, campaigns, etc.

Coordinate support for various fundraising projects and campaigns and identify and maximize contributions from various donor sources, (i.e. individual, corporate, foundations) in our particular area.

Access and manage current family, alumni and donor databases.

Update and manage the school website as it relates to fundraising and donor engagement.

Utilize computer applications related to work.

Create solicitation materials.

Oversee the logistics of events including obtaining sponsorships and solicitation of gifts and preparing related printed materials and publications for Annual Giving, the Auction and other fundraising events.

Create and nurture a cadre of volunteers to assist with school functions.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, board members, volunteers, alumni, community groups, and other related agencies.

Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other materials.

Coordinate the scheduling and monitoring of pledge payments with the Director of Finance and accountant.

Assist with marketing and communication efforts.

COMPENSATION:

Compensation for 15 hours a week will be $20,000. Year will be from September through May with the possibility of limited summer hours, as needed. Vacation days are when school is closed throughout the school year.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong fundraising skills, including successful experience working with individual, foundation, and corporate donors.

Excellent customer service, planning and personal initiative skills and interpersonal relationship skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent computer skills.

Experience in Development/Fundraising is required
