This is an opportunity to be part of a fundraising team that is poised to dramatically grow foundation revenue for the countryu2019s largest consumer champion. The position reports to the Director, Institutional Giving. The will support a fundraising strategy to build long-term partnerships withu2014and generate six-, seven- and eight- figure gifts fromu2014foundations and other institutional funders to support the priority areas of health, food safety, tech/home, cars, and money. The successful candidate will help write and develop grant proposals, and manage and report on grants, collaborating across the organization with finance, legal, HR, and with content experts, advocates, and journalists.u00a0 Key Responsibilities: Supports the development of a strategy for institutional fundraising, primarily from independent foundations, in pursuit of six, seven-, and eight-figure grants. Stays abreast of trends in foundation funding and philanthropy to ensure the organization leverages opportunities and understands its donor audience. Researches, identifies, and qualifies institutional funders and proposal opportunities that align with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.u2019 strategic priorities and policies. Manages a portfolio of prospects and plans and executes strategic and customized engagement strategies. Leverages the organizationu2019s assets and senior leadership appropriately, helps prepare senior leadership and program staff for funder and prospect interactions. Prepares compelling written materials for cultivation and solicitation including letters of inquiry, concept papers, and proposals. Assists in the development of project budgets. Prepares proposal submission plans, including key tasks and deadlines, and secures accurate data and program information from internal partners. Ensures grant proposals have clear goals, milestones, and measures of success and are aligned with internal operations and priorities. Administers a grant management system to effectively and efficiently document funding; manage execution of grants and awards; and track, monitor, and deliver on reports and milestones in a timely manner. Manages and communicates workflow to internal stakeholders, including colleagues in program, finance, legal, and HR to maximize results and minimize roadblocks. Participates in departmentu2019s constituent management system to document funder and prospect interactions and maintain data integrity. Performs other duties as necessary Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree or professional certification preferred. At least five years of experience with foundation fundraising required. Track record in seeking and managing significant grants and developing long-term relationships with foundations and other institutional funders. Experience in fundraising for research and advocacy and/or consumer issues a plus. Exemplary communication skills with the ability to generate sophisticated and compelling narratives and to convey complex ideas clearly for a variety of audiences. Extensive experience in producing proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and briefing materials. Strong research and organizational abilities. Proficient computer skills, including database management and spreadsheets.
