Development Assistant

The George Mason University College of Humanities and Social Sciences Development Office seeks a highly organized, energetic professional to serve as a Development Assistant. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason’s academic and culturally inclusive environment.


Office management;

Administrative support and planning relating to fundraising and related events; and

Prospect research, office correspondence gift processing and acting as the college’s scholarship liaison. This position will work closely with the


Director of Development and the rest of the development team in raising funds to support the college.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently on a wide variety of tasks as well as part of a team;

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills;

Ability and desire to master our database and reporting software; and

Experience in office management and administrative support.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education or fundraising.
