JOB SUMMARY

The Ministry Advancement Representative (MA Rep.) identifies, cultivates, and maintains relationships with individual donors and with ministry partners (churches and foundations) to raise awareness and inspire financial giving in support of the persecuted church.   A portfolio of donors/ministry partners is assigned by the VP of Ministry Advancement in consultation with the MA Rep.  Ministry Advancement at ODUSA is done through Moves Management which systematically cultivates relationships through strategic personal contacts and prayerful relationship building. LOOKING FOR A MA REP THAT WILL TRAVEL 50% - 70% and SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Portland, Seattle/Tacoma, Boise, Salt Lake City, and Sacramento. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and apply Moves Management principles to every account in their assigned portfolio (100 to 150 accounts).
  • Extensive travel within their assigned territory to meet with donors/partners and attend events, meetings, and trips to the international field.
  • Develop a strategic geographic plan to create a regional footprint to lift donor giving and identify major gift potential within the region.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to prepare specific proposals and reports for donors and partners.
  • Participate in at least one international field trip per year, taking portfolio donors and partners, to showcase and observe OD international field work.
  • Keeps informed of all Open Doors ministries, activities, policies, projects, and programs through various channels of communication. . 
  • Maintains donor and partner records in a CRM.
  • Continual communication with the V.P. of Ministry Advancement by phone, text, and email to discuss activities, problems, and opportunities or as needed for assistance.
  • Responsibly manage the budget for the territory and be accountable for spending of ministry funds in accordance with approved plans and guidelines.
  • Other duties are to be performed as requested and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

      KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience preferably in fund raising alternatively, in a sales/customer service related field.
  • Experience in income generation capability is a must.
  • A Bachelor’s degree

  • Possess a high desire for excellence in raising funds for Open Doors worldwide ministry to the Persecuted Church. 
  • Positive, personable, prayerful follower of Jesus Christ who senses a call by God to this ministry.
  • Heart of a servant and consistently handles the challenges of hard work.
  • Emotionally and spiritually mature, self-confident, flexible, and a mobilizer and leader of people.
  • Persistence and determination are also desirable, along with sensitivity and compassion towards the needs and feelings of others.
  • Vision oriented while recognizing opportunities to minister and build relationships with people assigned to their caseload.
  • Always displays a good personal appearance and responsible lifestyle.

  • Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills. 
  • Confident and assertive enough to provide prayerful financial opportunities while being perceptive and sensitive to do so at the right time, bringing people to a commitment to invest in the ministry of Open Doors.   
  • Organized self-starter who is teachable, motivated to learn and to improve their professional fund-raising development skills
  • Ability to handle extensive and demanding travel schedule
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
