We are seeking a Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations to strengthen our growing fundraising team and play a leadership role across diverse responsibilities in philanthropy. This is a unique opportunity for professional growth and achievement of success in a variety of fundraising roles, serving two of the greatest institutions in medicine, Montefiore and the Einstein College of Medicine. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will contribute broadly to the success of the Office of Development for Montefiore Einstein which fundraises approximately $40 million per year for clinical care, medical education, and research. The fundraising department is implementing a strategic plan to increase fundraising and is positioning for a major campaign. The Director will be a skilled professional with the ability and flexibility to provide leadership and support in multiple areas: foundation and corporate fundraising; special events; stewardship; and donor relations. The Director will collaborate with the major gifts, alumni, and donor research teams as needed to support their work. The Director will be a front-line fundraiser with foundation and corporate solicitations, play strategic logistics and fundraising roles in various special events and cultivation events, and handle reporting and stewardship duties with certain donors. Areas of responsibility include managing and growing a portfolio of donors, providing additional expertise in developing key fundraising projects, and collaborating closely with the Executive Director and staff throughout Montefiore and Einstein to meet strategic needs and priorities.
Our ideal candidate has a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred with 7+ years of experience and proven success in fundraising. The successful candidate will be an exceptional writer (samples will be requested) with a strong grasp of financials and budgeting, have a commitment to best practices in foundation and corporate fundraising, and be adept at engaging with colleagues across Montefiore and Einstein's spectrum of disciplines. Familiarity with The Raiser's Edge database or a comparable fundraising database is preferred.
