Profile

The Regional Director of Development will be\u00A0responsible for overseeing giving to the Iowa City, Ames, and additional service areas through major and annual gifts that will strengthen ChildServe\u2019s mission. This individual will manage a portfolio of major gift and corporate prospects capable of making gifts at higher levels. The Director of Development will also lead campaign and special initiatives as assigned for growth in the regional and primary markets. In addition to identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors, the Director of Development will also play roles in securing event sponsorships and special initiatives as assigned and designed to generate gift resources necessary to implement organizational strategic plans. The Director will also serve as the primary liaison to the Iowa City and Ames Area Community Advisory Boards. Develop a comprehensive major and annual giving program designed to grow substantially the number of individuals/families who include the organization in their philanthropy. Maintain regular communication with donors and prospects through a personal visits program.Cultivate relationships with community leaders to promote ChildServe in regional markets. Steward existing donors and maintains accurate records of all gift commitments. In conjunction with the marketing/communications team, help write marketing materials and testimonials designed to raise awareness and generate more regional prospects. Set the pace with a focus on external visits by conducting meaningful personal calls with major gift prospects incorporating the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship phases.Working in tandem with the area Directors, provide leadership to the external relations effort in the Ames and Iowa City markets to include the Community Advisory Boards, growing the organizational presence through community activities and service club presentations and conducting an annual fundraising effort.Design and present compelling and customized proposals/gift requests to individuals, corporations and foundations that align with donor interests and organizational priorities; successfully close gifts that advance the mission and achieves annual and long-term fundraising goals. As assigned, is part of the solicitation team for ChildServe campaigns and special initiatives. Provide support to ChildServe special events through sponsorship calls and logistical support as assigned. Produce reports and provides support to periodic Trustee meetings and committee meetings as assignedWhat You'll NeedBachelor\u2019s Degree Required. Master\u2019s Degree Preferred.Minimum of five years of progressively more responsible experience in development with a demonstrated record of closing major gift commitments. Experience with capital campaigns.
