Serving as a core part of the Mission Investors Exchange operations team, the Associate, Fund Development and Operations will ensure effective organizational and financial operations for the organization and work closely with the Mission Investors Exchange leadership. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Associate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the organization, organizational budgeting, and also support the CEO in delivering on grant and sponsorship-related needs, maintaining relationships with a wide array of stakeholders interested in increasing the amount of capital deployed for social and environmental change.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Stakeholder and Fund Development

Serve as a key steward of external relationships, ensuring that members, sponsors, prospective funders and other audiences have positive interactions with the organization

Design, implement and manage a grants and sponsorships system, ensuring a smooth Salesforce integration process and leveraging that platform

Oversee all grants and sponsorship application processes and steward ongoing relationships, managing the full life cycle of funding (application, reporting, relationship development)

In partnership with the CEO and Managing Director, establish measurable organizational goals, project goals, and key performance indicators to support impact measurement efforts, and support their reporting to key stakeholders, including funders and the Board of Directors

Manage impact reporting, leading the development of compelling grant application and report narratives that capture how the organization is delivering against its goals and creating the impact that aligns with the funder / sponsor mission

Finance and Operations

Work closely with a broad array of stakeholders, including MIE’s leadership team, staff, vendors, members, funders and other partners to ensure that the organization operates at a high standard of excellence

Manage the successful transition of the organization’s financial and human resources operations to a new external partner

Establish and monitor all day-to-day finance and human resource processes, working closely with MIE’s Managing Director and external partners to develop, implement and maintain systems that meet the organization’s needs

Support the organization’s Managing Director in creating and monitoring project and proposal budgets


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A minimum of five years professional experience

Ability to develop and cultivate strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders

Excellent project management skills and ability to manage to strict timelines and deliverables with an attention to detail

Experience in organizational budgeting and financial management

Ability to build systems, processes and structures to achieve measurable goals

Strong verbal communication skills

Analytical skills, with the ability to surface meaning from data

Bachelor’s degree required
