Mission Advancement Professionals (MAP) is seeking experienced development professionals to join our growing consulting practice in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region. Consultants work with a variety of clients and must be able to navigate a wide range of organizational cultures. Successful nonprofit experience in relational, major gift fundraising is key.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Candidates should possess qualities to make them successful in the following areas:

Managing a sustainable major gifts program and/or successful capital campaign.

Working with organization leadership and high-level volunteers to implement a proposed plan of action.

Serving as support and resource to all members of an organization's advancement team.

Providing orientation and training through formal and informal methods to develop the skills of advancement staff and volunteers.

Coordinating communications efforts, including print and visual collateral materials.

Facilitating the prospect review process; prospect identification, research and evaluation.

Creating activity/awareness building and cultivation opportunities.

Developing cultivation and solicitation strategies for key donor prospects; briefing and preparing the solicitation team for donor meetings.

Maintaining communication through post-visit correspondence, telephone, video conference, and email communications with client and key volunteer leaders when off-site.

Introducing a level of professionalism to the advancement office of the client that will bring an impactful success to the initiative as well as the mission of the organization.

Willingness to work with a variety of faith-based organizations and adapt to the appropriate culture

MAP is based in the Dallas, Texas area. Travel may be required to serve clients in other parts of the country.

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education and/or Experience/Skills

•Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of applicable advanced degree and experience.

•Experience working with nonprofit organizations is required

•Exceptional communication skills, specifically writing, as well as one-on-one communication and presentation abilities.

•Willingness to work with faith-based organizations and ability to understand their specific organizational cultures.

•Proactive & independent approach to all duties and responsibilities internally and with clients.

•Ability to work with organizational and volunteer leadership while exhibiting a professional management style.

•Ability to demonstrate a mature understanding of the particular needs of nonprofits & fundraising best practices.

•Ability to build relationships, lead people, and get results through others.

•Positive attitude.

•Ability to take direction and be a team player.

•Critical thinking and problem solving skills.

•Ability to demonstrate efficient time management and prioritization of workload.

•Literate in multiple forms of technology with ability to understand new applications.

•Valid State Driver’s License

•Willingness to complete background check.
