Description The AssistantDean for Development for the College of Liberal Arts, reporting to and workingin collaboration with the Dean of the College and the Associate Vice Presidentof Principal Gifts (Institutional Advancement), will lead the effort to securephilanthropic investments that support the priorities of the Dean of theCollege. The Assistant Dean will create and implement a fundraisingstrategy that mobilizes and inspires a unit-based fundraising team andleverages centrally-based resources. In addition, the Assistant Dean willmanage an individual donor portfolio of 100-125 prospects with a capacity forgifts of $100,000 and higher. The Assistant Dean will serve on the Dean\u2019sadministrative leadership team and will provide input in the creation ofphilanthropic priorities. The individual will manage the College\u2019s advisoryboard in consultation with the Dean and the Associate Vice President. Thisperson must be an energetic, organized and enthusiastic professional with atrack record of building donor relationships and working collaboratively andstrategically, with a strong knowledge of principles, ethics and practices ofsuccessful fundraising. Performs other duties as assigned. RequiredEducation & Experience: Bachelor\u2019s degree and atleast five to seven years of higher\/education fundraising experience with aproven track record of closing six to seven figure gifts. An equivalentcombination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills& Abilities: *Create andimplement an advancement strategy for the College of Liberal Arts inconsultation with the Dean, the Dean\u2019s team, the Associate Vice President, andother vital partners. Elements will include: securing principal gifts,major gifts, and leadership annual gifts; increasing alumni participationthrough collaboration with Annual Fund and Alumni Relations; and planning forthe Board of Visitors, the Dean\u2019s advisory group. *Inspire andmanage a team of three professionals *Qualify,cultivate, solicit and steward donors and prospective donors with the capacityto primarily make commitments of a minimum of $100,000 in support of TempleUniversity *Collaboratewith colleagues from across Institutional Advancement when working together tocultivate, solicit or steward a prospect; refer prospects to other giftofficers when appropriate to maximize support to the university *Effectivelyarticulate the mission and vision of the College of Liberal Arts as well asTemple University to increase private support *Leverageresources available both centrally and within the schools and units to engageprospective or current donors, including: fundraising staff and faculty atother schools\/colleges\/units, the central service operations of regional gifts,annual giving, gift planning, corporate and foundation relations, prospectresearch, data analytics, gift processing and records, and alumni relations *Model appropriateand regular use of advancement technologies *Collaboratewith alumni relations to co-manage the Liberal Arts Alumni Board *Metrics willinclude portfolio management, annual fundraising goals, and monthly meetinggoals. *Thisposition requires a background check ComplianceStatement: In the performance of their functions as detailed in the positiondescription employees have an obligation to avoid ethical, legal, financial andother conflicts of interest to ensure that their actions and outside activitiesdo not conflict with their primary employment responsibilities at theinstitution.
