Our mission is to foster an appreciation of invertebrates by educating the public about the need to protect and care for threatened habitats globally, while conducting research for solutions in invertebrate conservation. n**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is a Tier II member of the SCFD (Science and Cultural Facilities District) and is the eighth largest cultural facility in the Denver Metro area, attracting more than 4.5 million visitors in 23 years of operation. **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. was the first stand-alone invertebrate zoo in the United States to become a certified member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and has become a prototype for many others. Our facility includes four indoor exhibit areas; eleven acres of public gardens; two educational classrooms; and event space, including a 2,200 square foot ballroom and patio overlooking Jefferson County Open Space. nLooking forward, we are committed to providing the most enriching experience for our audience, being recognized as a scientific authority, and being a leading educational resource on invertebrates. To this end, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. has begun the early stages of launching a $33 million Capital Campaign to expand **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. into the Center for Invertebrate Research and Conservation (CIRC), a brand new, 81K sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility, that will serve as the preeminent local, national and global hub for invertebrate knowledge, conservation, inspiration and connection. Located in the Baseline neighborhood of Broomfield and in partnership with City and County of Broomfield and McWhinney, the site will also feature a 1200 acre pollinator district, ushering in a new, innovative model for real estate development and landscapes. At Baseline we'll also partner with Adams 12 School District. A K-12 STEM School will be located on the very same campus, creating a very innovative and unprecedented model for advancing public education, as well as career and workforce readiness.n FLSA: Full Time/ExemptnSalary/Hourly Rate: $80,000 - 85,000nPosition Summary:n**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Director of Individual Giving is a front-line fundraising professional responsible for managing all giving by individual donors, including major gifts, giving circles and capital gifts. The Director will take a leading role in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s capital campaign, driving gifts and participating in the Campaign Steering Committee and its sub-committees. The Director will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors with significant giving potential, working to take these individuals through the gift cycle. The Director of Individual Giving creates and maintains relationships, connecting each individual's interests to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s priorities This includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major and planned gift prospects and donors. Retaining and upgrading existing donors through strategic engagement and stewardship is expected. This person is detail and goal-oriented, with demonstrated skill in relationship building, project support, information management, and verbal and written communication. The Director will work closely with the VP Donor Relations to increase annual revenue, identify new sources for support and secure donations for the capital campaign. Working with the Director of Community Relations, the Director of Individual Giving will manage the Development Committee of the Board, whose goals are to support the annual gala and Giving Circles program. The Director of Individual Giving will oversee the individual giving team which includes Individual Giving Manager and Development Coordinator. The benefit of this position will be the satisfaction of helping donors fulfill their passions and interests through their giving to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..nEssential Functions & Responsibilities: nnnnDirect and manage the Individual Giving Team, which includes Individual Giving Manager and Development Coordinator. nManage a portfolio of donors and prospects capable of four-figure and above gifts for general operating, programmatic, and capital support.nCreate individual goals and strategy plans for each prospect and donor in portfolio, based on the donor's history of giving and the organization's knowledge of that donor's potential. Prepare written proposals, informational materials, gift agreements, gift illustrations and other materials to engage supporters.nImplement programs and activities (in tandem with Board members and **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s leadership) to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors targeted at the highest levels with a focus on generating gifts for the capital campaign.nEngage prospects and donors through multiple channels, including in-person meetings, events and written communications. Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects and donors at least 50% of each week to carry out discovery visits, provide briefings, implement tours, and solicit donors for support.nOversee Giving Circle Program with support from the Individual Giving Manager and create donor engagement opportunities to increase donors and their giving level within the program.nDirect annual giving campaign which includes email solicitations, year-end gift appeal and Colorado Gives Day.nCollaborate with Donor Relations team and senior leadership on the development and implementation of cultivation and stewardship events.nDevelop and execute ongoing strategies for qualifying prospects and moving them through the donor cycle by using tools such as small cultivation events, research, face-to-face meetings, tours, and community networking.nOversee and market planned giving program and identify potential planned giving prospects among donors and partners and engage them to solicit planned gifts.nnnnCompetencies: nnBuilds relationshipsnProject/Time managementnResults and Goal-OrientednResource Generation/DevelopmentnResource ManagementnStrategic ThinkingnCoaching and DevelopingnDecision-Makingnn Qualifications/Experience: nnnn5-7 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and/or in sales is required.n3 years of experience managing a team.nA Bachelor's degree required, and an advanced degree in business administration, journalism, marketing or communications or an MBA is a plus.nMust have a successful track record of closing four- and five-figure gifts; six-figure gifts a plus.nDemonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service to donors and community stakeholders.nA sophisticated and comprehensive understanding of fundraising principles and practices, and a demonstrated high level of professionalism, collegiality, self-motivation, and success in fundraising.nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, great attention to detail, the ability to process and maintain confidential information, and develop strong relationships with both internal and external constituencies to promote a positive collaborative spirit across the organization's network.nIn-depth knowledge of the communities served by **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..nExperience using donor CRM.nPublic speaking and Spanish language skills a plus.nnnnAdditional Requirements: nnManage employees within the Donor Relations branch and is responsible for employee lifecycle (hire, inspire, coach, develop, and reward), including performance management, coaching, development, and hiring of the employees.nRecruit and oversee volunteers and interns as part of the Service Enterprise Program initiative.nRegular attendance at organization, branch and department staff meetings and trainings.nOther duties as assignednnWork Environment / Physical Requirements: nWhile performing the responsibilities of this position, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the position will encounter.
