Development Coordinator - Illinois Transplant Fund
Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network started the Illinois Transplant Fund driven by our belief that a person’s financial status should not be a barrier to their ability to receive a lifesaving organ transplant. The Illinois Transplant fund is a 501C3 that provides access to organ transplants for those who lack access to health insurance.
Our Development Coordinator serves as an integral part of achieving our mission: To give people access to lifesaving organ transplants and follow-up care to help them live long, healthy and productive lives.
In this role, you would work with the Executive Director to develop and track progress of fundraising goals, create and execute formal fundraising programs focusing on major gifts, annual giving and special events, cultivate relationships with prospects and directly solicit funds.

Support Gift of Hope’s mission, vision and values; adhere to its policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position
Assists the Executive Director with the development of fundraising goals and soliciting funds
Creating a formal fundraising program, focusing on major gifts, annual giving and special events
Ability to cultivate relationships with prospects.
Developing strong working relationships with members of the ITF board of directors, including identification of board member prospects, strategy development, meeting preparation and execution
Expand ITF awareness through development of new and beneficial relationships
Conducting research to determine capacity for raising funds from each target market
Maintains fundraising database, including gift recognition and prospect information. Provides recommendations for database program that fits current and future needs
Works in collaboration with other company departments to develop events, collateral materials, and opportunities to promote ITF within the Chicago philanthropic community
Monitors fundraising progress and produces written and oral reports for internal and external audiences

Education and Training Required

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
Experience and Skills Required
The following indicates the minimum skills and experience required to perform the essential functions of the job.
3-5 years of experience in non-profit development/fundraising
Strong experience in fundraising program development and donor stewardship, including fundraising databases, budget development, building relationships and working with board members
Relationships within the Chicago Philanthropic community
Strong oral and writing skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, think proactively and respond appropriately
Strong Spanish-speaking and writing skills preferred
