This newly-created position is a great opportunity for a successful and enthusiastic event planner to join a dynamic independent school Advancement Team. The Advancement Events Coordinator

facilitates events as an opportunity to meaningfully engage members of the Flint Hill School family to build community.

The Advancement Events Coordinator supports and embraces the vision, mission, and core values of the school and the portrait of the Flint Hill student. It’s an interesting time to work at the school as we look to an exciting future guided by a recent Strategic Plan and Campus Master Plan with preparations underway for a capital campaign.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate and support the successful execution of Advancement Office events including Annual Fund Leadership Donor Reception, Campaign Events, Reunion and Alumni gatherings, Volunteer Fairs and Volunteer Appreciation Events

Leading and managing committees and teams of volunteers, plan and execute fundraising events sponsored by the Parents’ Association including the Holiday Shoppes and Flint Hill Golf Invitational

Plan and execute community building events including Tennis Social, Homecoming, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, among others in terms of coordinating all needed support: food, meeting and event space, logistics, volunteer management and contractual commitments

Serve as contact for the Parents’ Association Concessions volunteers

Collaborate with Communications and Marketing Office on event materials:

Write event recaps and promote events in weekly School newsletter

Liaison with the Communications and Marketing Office on design, schedule, costs, printing of event collateral

Provide event feedback and periodic reports to stakeholders

Attend monthly all-school calendar meetings

Work with the Advancement Office and the Parents’ Association to promote volunteerism in our community

Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a high level of energy, creativity and flexibility

An ability to work collaboratively and make an impact in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Proven track record of effectively managing a team of volunteers

Strong customer service skills

The ability to meet deadlines and work independently

Appreciation of Flint Hill School’s mission and the ability to effectively communicate it

Outstanding judgment and maturity and a commitment to ethical fundraising

Experience with Raiser’s Edge

Minimum Qualifications:

Four-year undergraduate college degree from an accredited institution

3-4 years of professional experience managing small and large events

Fluency with technology, i.e. Google Suite and database management

Hours: Twelve-month administrative position M-F 7:30am - 4:00pm, occasional evenings and five to six Saturdays to support campus events.
