To help in this mission KUOW has an outstanding opportunity for a Development Services Officer for their Evergreen Program.
Reporting to the Membership Services Manager, the Duties & Responsibilities include:
Develops and grows KUOW's sustaining member giving program, the Evergreen membership program, with the goal of cultivating, retaining and upgrading donors whose annual value to the station significantly contributes to KUOW’s annual operating budget. Responsible for strategy and planning of related fundraising and stewardship activities for members, including direct mail, pledge drive, web, email, on-air, etc. Provides excellent customer service and ensures related internal processes and member accounts are current.
With the Membership Services Manager, devises strategies to grow the Evergreen sustaining donor program including donor acquisition, upgrading giving levels, improving credit card recapture rates and converting donors to EFT payment method. Develop Evergreen appreciation plan including special events, drawings and other donor incentives. Monitors program performance and any related budget expenditures. (20%)
Provides excellent customer service to Evergreen members; uses independent judgement while conducting donor stewardship and account maintenance by answering phone calls and donor emails, composing appropriate correspondence as needed and resolving donor inquiries and account problems. (30%)
Manages Evergreen accounts in donor database. Responsibilities include updating donor payment methods, processing gift cancellations for lapsed donors and running reporting for analysis and generating communication pieces. (30%)
Works with Development Department to create and disseminate membership communication materials that support donor retention and stewardship, including direct mail appeals, social media postings, email campaigns, gift acknowledgment letters, newsletters and on-air messaging. (10%)
Attends cultivation and stewardship activities, including donor-related events and assists with events, pledge drives, general membership programs and other duties as assigned. Participates in annual development and marketing planning for the Development Department. (10%)
Occasional supervision of task-oriented work-study or part-time employees and volunteers.
A bachelor's degree and two years' experience in professional fundraising with demonstrated understanding of best practices in donor management.
Working knowledge of database programs, competency in Microsoft Word and Excel a must; InDesign preferred.
Ability to write and design quality donor materials and communications that integrate into the organization’s existing messaging and collateral.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and an ability to communicate successfully in writing, by phone and in person. Proven ability to work professionally, collegially and effectively with donors or other constituents, colleagues and the general public. Commitment to providing quality service and ability to maintain confidences and protect confidential information.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
