University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is seeking an experienced and compassionate fundraising professional. As a Director of Development, you will work closely with nursing and dentistry scientists, clinicians and faculty, doctors, administrators and other researchers to further all aspects of the fundraising process for academic areas at UCSF. Major responsibilities of this role include managing the universityu0027s relationship with current donors and prospective donors who give or can give at the $50,000 level or above.
You will design and implement comprehensive strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward the highest capacity individuals, build engagement of these individuals, create gift opportunities based on initiative/divisional priorities, formulate and coordinate fundraising strategies, and determine appropriate stewardship plans for significant donors. This position may coach and manage up to one other fundraising professional and a support staff member. You will also have the opportunity to work on the Dean s Advisory Councils for the Schools of Nursing and Dentistry.

UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT AND ALUMNI RELATIONS
The UCSF Foundation and the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) are responsible for fostering and strengthening campus outreach efforts to UCSF constituents and for garnering private support for the campus. In raising private support, UDAR identifies, qualifies, solicits and stewards donors for the schools, medical center, departments and programs on campus; accepts and administers all private gifts to the university through the Regents or the UCSF Foundation; and manages all alumni relations activities, campus support group activities and campus events. UDAR is also responsible for the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns for UCSF.

Required Qualifications: Bacheloru0027s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
At least ten years experience in fundraising roles of increasing responsibility
Knowledge of fundraising, donor and public relations principles, concepts, procedures and techniques, including identification, cultivation, and solicitation strategies
Solid knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. as related to fundraising
Demonstrated knowledge of management concepts, principles and applicable policies
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including skills to coach, mentor, evaluate and motivate staff
Good written, oral and Interpersonal communication skills and political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships within all organizational levels and outside constituencies
Demonstrated skills to meet predetermined goals and objectives, including securing gifts, through effective program / project planning, organization, execution and evaluation
Solid project management, critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications: Solid knowledge of the campus and / or medical center, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure
