Background

The Frick Collection is an art museum consisting of more than 1,100 works of art from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century, displayed in the intimate surroundings of the former home of Henry Clay Frick. The residence, with its furnishings and works of art, has been open to the public since 1935. The Frick Art Reference Library is an internationally-recognized research library that serves as one of the most complete resources for the study of Western art. Founded in 1920, the Library today holds more than one million study photographs, 285,000 books, 80,000 auction catalogs, and 2,250 periodical titles. It is open to interested individuals from all over the world.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director for Individual Giving, the Membership Manager, Appeals and Special Projects, is an integral part of the membership team who is responsible for creating high-level communications to members and donors at all levels with a focus on personalized communications for the Director’s Circle, the highest level member group. She/he drafts and edits solicitations, membership renewals, annual appeals, and reports, as well as other special assignments. She/he provides administrative support for the Director’s Circle including revenue tracking and reporting, event coordination, prospect identification, and solicitation schedule management. She/he also assists in organizing all details for the annual Director’s Trip.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of three to five years’ experience in fundraising and/or communications for a cultural institution. Excellent communications skills including exceptional writing skills. Initiative and ability to work independently. Ability to write quickly and prioritize multiple projects to meet assigned deadlines. Excellent proof-reading and editing skills. High-level of attention to detail and experience with budgets, revenue projections, and data. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other database applications.
