The Development Associate will be a key, public-facing representative of the office to the Nueva community. Excellent customer service and volunteer relationship management with a positive can-do attitude is essential. The Associate will support the success of the Advancement office initiatives, including but not limited to the Nueva Fund, Auction, Capital Campaign, and Alumni events.
Support the Advancement Director and Department in the following ways:
Arrange and participate in office meetings, take notes and independently work on follow-up items with colleagues and others.
Coordinate advancement staff and campaign meeting schedules, including assistance with agenda development, notification and logistics.
Assume responsibility for Director's budget, including tracking, payments, and monthly analysis of expenditures to facilitate the Director's management of the Advancement budget.
Manage event logistics for Advancement related events, including the Capital Campaign, Nueva Fund, Alumni Relations, and miscellaneous stewardship events.
Respond independently to miscellaneous information or assistance requests by trustees, advancement colleagues, Head of School, senior administrators and others.
Draft correspondence on behalf of the Director to expedite timely response.
Manage production of trustee and major donor gift acknowledgements.
Manage and coordinate the Director's calendar and proactively anticipate meetings and travel.
Create and maintain department information - office and school policies, office protocol and procedures.
Support the management of Nueva Fund and Advancement committee volunteers.
Help prepare all Nueva Fund materials for call nights and meetings, track and record gifts, and execute stewardship activities.
Attend all Nueva Fund related meetings and take notes, and serve as a liaison to volunteers.
Support Assistant Director of Development by managing tactics around the auction.
Support Auction execution by managing data entries in both the Greater Giving and Bidding for Good software systems.
Manage all pre-auction procedures, and help manage Auction volunteers.
Attend all Auction related meetings and take notes.
Systems Input and Reporting:
Keep excellent records of all work in Nueva’s advancement database and be able to generate reports when requested.
Maintain constituent filing system.
Other Duties as Assigned.
Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel and Word.
Exceptional organization skills.
Excellent and positive attitude, and sense of humor.
Data entry / database systems experience.
Basic accounting skills, or willingness to learn them.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Self-starter able to work independently.
Strong team player and active collaborator.
Interest in and understanding of education broadly and non-profit environment preferred.
This is a full time, salaried, benefited, 12-month position for immediate hire. Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience.
