Looking for seasoned major gifts professional to expand the major gifts program of the development team at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., Seattleâ€™s largest provider of community based medical and dental care to low-income families and individuals.
The development team has grown steadily over the last ten years, increasing its resource to keep pace with new fundraising capacity. We have a young major gifts program that we are looking to grow and develop.
The major gifts officer will join a team of experienced grants and annual fund specialists operating out of the historic Pacific Tower, in a collaborative environment focused on long-term, measurable results and sustained growth, without sacrificing humor or the ability to celebrate our successes.
The Major Gifts Officer generates major gifts ($1,000 ) by developing and managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors for annual fund and capital campaigns; manages and builds relationships with major donors and partners; prepares solicitation and other materials to continuously inform and recognize major donors; recruits, trains and supports fundraising volunteers; staffs volunteer committees focused on major gifts as needed; seeks new opportunities to reach and engage donors; helps build a culture of philanthropy at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
The Major Gifts Officer works independently and in partnership with the development team, and other partners at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., to achieve our mission, guiding principles and goals.
Manage major gifts portfolio, including individual plans and strategies, and tracks results
Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects
Proactively reach out to qualify prospects, making 10-15 substantial contacts per week and an average of 4-10 visits per month.
Solicit individual prospective donors when appropriate and qualify major gift prospects to proactively cultivate for additional future gifts
Writes briefing reports and proposals, stewardship reports, and assists with other donor communications as requested
Plan and implement strategies to increase major donors and deepen relationships with existing
Partner with philanthropy staff to ensure all donor relationships are cultivated
Partner with philanthropy staff to recruit and support table captains for fundraising events
Partner with grants staff on corporate and foundation opportunities
Partner with Director of Philanthropy and Chief Development Officer in capital campaigns and other special initiatives
Lead planned giving program
Prepare solicitation and funding proposals as needed
Staff and support major donor focused committees

Our Ideal Candidate
Proven experience soliciting major gifts of $1,000 and above, and initiating major gift fundraising strategies; must also have knowledge of and experience with development/fundraising concepts and techniques, as well as gift planning and procedures
Brings competencies in management tools for tracking and measuring success
Enjoys building and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers and partners
Ability to analyze research data to align donors with appropriate projects
Ability to build a major gifts program and successfully engage moves management
Creatively seeks out new opportunities to engage donors and fill donor pipeline
Can lead self and others through a process

Is self-starting and independent but works collaboratively
Has significant skill in interpersonal and written communication
Has flexibility to occasionally work evenings, early mornings or weekends as needed
Has the ability and means to drive to multiple locations to meet with donors

Proficient in Raiserâ€™s Edge
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications
3-5 years' experience in fundraising experience, including some major donor cultivation
2 years major gifts experience preferred
Experience working with boards in the area of fund development preferred
