We are currently seeking a Development Specialist, Grant and Stewardship (Denver, CO) to work in our Denver office. This position will work 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and some weekends and evenings will be required during times of business need. Minimal travel will also be involved. Direct Apply Link: https:\/\/americanredcross.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com\/American_Red_Cross_Careers\/job\/Denver-CO\/Manager--Grants-and-Stewardship--Denver--CO-_RC13318 The Development Specialist, Grant and Stewardship is responsible for researching, writing, developing and implementing the strategy to increase revenue through workplace giving campaigns and grant proposals.\u00a0 Enhances relationships with foundations and government agencies in support of funding needs. This position will be responsible for planning and carrying out donor stewardship activity, grant writing and grant reporting activity, and for providing marketing and event support to the for the fund raising team. Some Responsibilities: Provides strategic vision, tools, resources and training to help Red Cross fundraisers create fundraising strategies. Works closely with colleagues to ensure that the organization takes full advantage of programmatic funding opportunities. Implements and creates best practices on workplace giving for United Way and other foundations. Conducts in-depth analysis and exploration in order to advise others regarding which foundations, agencies or corporations would be suitable to approach for the organization\u2019s funding needs. May be personally responsible for researching and writing grants. Identifies, pursues, cultivates, and enhances relationships with foundations and government agencies in support of funding needs. Creates guidance, tools, and resources to assess relationships. Initially carrying out the current Stewardship plan and then annually updating and executing the plan, in partnership with direct fundraisers. This is about ensuring our donors have not regrets, that promised benefits are provided, and that donors are thanked and appreciated in such a way that they are inclined to give again. In the Grants area, responsibility includes developing financial information (budgets by geography and program), making sure that standard information is readily available (audit, 990, IRS certification, etc.), developing and maintaining grant proposal templates by location and program, ensuring that grant reporting is done on schedule, and working with direct fundraisers in preparing and submitting grant requests and grant reports. Other responsibilities include working with marketing staff and event management staff to develop collateral, ensure promised recognition, and carry out project management duties for things like Colorado Gives Day, etc. Grant Management - Developing a grant plan and executing the same (including identification, submission and reporting). Donor Stewardship - Developing a stewardship plan and executing the same. Project Management - Developing and executing project plans so that desired outcomes are achieved or exceeded on time and on budget. Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Business, Organizational Development or a relevant field. Experience: A minimum of five years\u2019 experience working for a nonprofit organization or in public relations, marketing, sales, communication or project management. Corporate fundraising or workplace giving experience preferred. Experience working with community foundations and the United Way preferred. Management Experience: 2-4 years of management experience preferred. Skills and Abilities: Microsoft Office, Donor Management System (like Raiser\u2019s Edge or Team Approach) is highly preferred. Other: Excellent written and oral communication skills, Including strong presentation skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail and data management. Strong customer service orientation is necessary. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team. Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle deadlines, pressure and changing priorities with good judgment. Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours. Travel: Limited, less than 20% of time.
