What you will do:

This position reports to the Data Supervisor of the Baystate Health Foundation (BHF) and supports the work of the Operations and Finance department through detailed report writing and data analysis. The position is an integral resource to BHF leaders, and partner with team members, creating and providing meaningful reports necessary for the development of strategies and measurements of outcomes and successes of the philanthropic activities of the Baystate Health Foundation.

Responsibilities include:

Analyzing data, creating complex and standard system and ad hoc reports, analyzing report results, and sharing findings with BHF leaders. This position translates stakeholder requirements into reporting deliverables, determining which technology best fits needs, and designing and implementing the report generation processes. Develops dashboards, data models and data standards, and delivers reporting on BHF fundraising programs, operations, and finances based on fundraising best practices. This position serves as a “poweruser” and resource development analyst using Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, Crystal Reporting, and Microsoft products to fulfill BHF reporting needs and requirements for BHF leaders.

Strong hands-on technical skills with a sound understanding of non-profit fundraising, customer relationship management (CRM) software, reporting software, project management, database relationships, data segmentation, and data analysis. This position requires tremendous attention to detail and priorities, well-developed quantitative skills and analytical thinking, and must have the ability to interact professionally with leaders, staff, vendor partners, and donors in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Excellent project management, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills are required.

What you will need:

Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years experience.


Possess the skill to creatively solve problems and propose solutions with minimal direction. Able to capture and document end-user requirements, design reports for performance, data quality, and simplicity and maintainability, and articulate trade-offs. Strong customer service skill as well as excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated collaborative skills. Able to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast paced setting, willing to take on new projects and be flexible. Able to show initiative, and execute projects from development to final delivery. Excellent time management and organizational skills required. Able to prioritize work load and manage several projects simultaneously.

Able to retrieve, analyze, and report data from Blackbaud fundraising and online fundraising solutions (NetCommunity, Lumunate Online, TeamRaiser, Planned Gift Tracker, Prospect Research, Honor/Memorial Tracking, etc.). Demonstrates understanding of various record types, gift batching, acknowledgement letters and mail functions, exporting/importing, queries, and system reports. Proven experience with reporting tools, software such as Crystal Reporting (or equivalent report writer), Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint. Expert ability in Microsoft Office Excel (SumIfs, Vlookups, Pivot tables, functions, formulas, and data cleanup features, etc.) Strong technical skills including the ability to import and merge data from various sources.
