Full Time - Administration
San Domenico School is seeking an energetic and creative professional to serve as our Director of Annual Giving and Special Events. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, Anna Heidinger, the Director of Annual Giving and Special Events is responsible for strategically planning, successfully managing, and executing a comprehensive annual giving program. The Director of Annual Giving and Special Events makes connections with donors throughout the school and works pro-actively to engage and manage relationships with parents, trustees, donors, parent volunteers, faculty and staff. This position works closely with the Advancement team and fundraising volunteers to meet annual goals.
In addition, the Director of Annual Giving and Special Events of Annual Giving serves as the project manager for the annual Gala, a community fundraising event to raise funds in support of San Domenico programs and special projects.
The Advancement department at San Domenico is responsible for securing immediate and long-term funding for the school’s priorities, and for establishing, cultivating, and maintaining meaningful relationships with parents, alumni, school leaders, faculty and friends of the School.
Primary Responsibilities of the Director of Annual Giving and Special Events:
Oversee and evaluate a comprehensive Annual Giving program to reach financial goals as set by Director of Advancement, Head of School, HOA, CFO and Board
Develop and implement targeted campaigns and approaches for current parents, alumni, alumni parents, faculty and staff, and friends of San Domenico.
Produce Annual Fund appeals; partner with Director of Advancement and Communications Office in the creation of marketing collateral and messaging
Collaborate with Director of Advancement and Major Gifts Manager to facilitate integrated approaches to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Oversee annual giving donor solicitation, acknowledgment and stewardship processes, as well as gift tracking and reporting
Conduct prospect research and reporting; work with Director of Advancement and Advancement Associate
Recruit, train, and steward Class Captains and other key volunteer fundraising partners to ensure alignment of goals and successful outcomes
Participate in Advancement Committee meetings as requested
Contribute content for San Domenico publications and social media for Annual Fund program
Serve as Project Manager for the annual Gala fundraiser
Recruit and manage event committee
Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and Head of School to create compelling strategies for fund-a-need project support
Collaborate with Parent Service Association to engage parent volunteer support
Partner with Alumni Relations Manager in planning donor engagement events for San Domenico alumni
Attend PSA parent sponsored events (Class Potlucks, Class Parent meetings, etc) as directed by Director of Advancement
Collaborate with the Director of Conservatory on cultivation, fundraising and stewardship events

A minimum of 3 years development/professional fundraising experience
Ability to conceive, plan and execute a multi-faceted annual giving program
Ability to successfully organize, multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with MS Office, social media (Facebook and LinkedIn) and fundraising databases; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
Ability to manage highly sensitive financial and other personal information with confidentiality
Ability to work independently, take initiative and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment with attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated flexibility, collaborative approach, and sense of humor
Ability to work some evenings and weekends
