MISSION:  Jubilee Association of Maryland provides opportunities and support for adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to live in and enrich their community while fulfilling their personal, family, social, and spiritual needs.



The Director of Development directs the fundraising and community relations efforts of Jubilee Association of Maryland and Jubilee Foundation, Inc.  The Director of Development is an employee of Jubilee Association of Maryland and will report to and be supervised by the Executive Director.  The Director of Development also consults with, provides staffing to, and takes direction from the Jubilee Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors.  Duties of the position listed in order of priority include:





  • Planning, designing, and directing a comprehensive fundraising program.


  • Implementing and directing a deferred-gifts program, including planned giving from wills and estates, and supporting membership / monthly giving plans.


  • Planning and managing the Roast/Toast fundraiser each spring.


  • Soliciting and developing relationships with potential donors and community leaders, and upgrading existing donors.


  • Soliciting donations from Foundations.


  • Serve as staff liaison to the Foundation Board of Directors by; recruiting new Board members, setting meeting agendas, organizing Board Committees, and preparing reports.


  • Supervising Communications Manager.


  • Working with Board members and other agency staff in developing fundraising and community relations events and activities.


  • Creating and maintaining a calendar for the year showing application deadlines and reporting deadlines and requirements for fundraising according to the plan to meet fundraising goals.


  • Writing articles each month for newsletters and preparing text for other printed materials.


  • Working with Communications Manager to maintain donor contacts and updated lists.


  • Attending and actively participating in Directors’ Team meetings, Management Team meetings, Roast/Toast Planning Committee meetings, Jubilee Foundation Board meetings.




QUALIFICATIONS



Education and Experience:





  • Bachelor’s Degree


  • Minimum of 3 years in a related field


  • A certificate in Fundraising Management is an asset




Knowledge, skills, and abilities:





  • Knowledge of fundraising management.


  • Excellent organizational, managerial, and communication skills


  • Knowledge of special events planning and management.


  • The ability to manage and work effectively with potential donors.


  • Strong interpersonal skills.


  • Excellent writing skills.


  • Proficiency in the use of technology:  relevant computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, fundraising and contact management software. Experience with Exceed and Greater Giving preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS             





  • Starting annual starting salary $75,000 depending on experience


  • Health  and dental insurance


  • Two weeks paid annual leave the 1st year; 3 weeks the 2nd 


  • Up to 1 week paid sick leave the 1st year, 2 weeks the 2nd
