Development Manager

The Development Manager supports **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.s mission by providing essential administrative and operational support for the Development & Marketing Department. This includes working closely with the Director of Development & Marketing (DoDM) to manage and implement all aspects of a robust donor-centered fund development and marketing program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Participate in the creation of a development & marketing strategy and annual work plan.
Manage annual development and marketing deadlines and calendar.
Support new and ongoing programs including individual giving, stewardship and cultivation; special events; special projects and planned and memorial giving.
Manages the stewardship program.
Database Management:
Manages and executes all aspects of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.s customer relationship management system, with a focus on optimizing functionality and best practices to maximize this resources capacities and capabilities. This role is the primary expert for Raisers Edge.
Responsible for all data entry, monitoring and integrity of the information, maintaining accurate and up to date donor and constituent records, moves management and revenue accounting.
Build campaigns and appeals appropriate to the initiatives; prepares accurate daily and weekly and monthly revenue reports.
Maintain and update fundraising database with all donor and prospect information, including tracking all moves management and communication activities.
Develop and execute all financial, constituent and analytical report requests. Provide counsel on analytical tracking, measurement, comparison and reporting.
Manage mailing list preparation, direct mail appeals and Board involvement in fundraising activities.
Develops and maintains the best practices protocols related to Raisers Edge and department operations.
Trains staff in Raisers Edge and proactively seeks and implements usages to optimize Raisers Edge and to support the departments work.
Donor Relations Manage all matters related to gift processing, including gift entry, updates, tracking, fund and appeal coding and reconciliation with the Finance Department.
Prepare and send all donor acknowledgements in a timely fashion.
Utilize public information sources and on-line tools for prospect research.
Manage and implement the donor stewardship plan, insuring donor recognition is appropriate, timely and meaningful.
Manages the accounting and administration of the planned and memorial giving programs.
Special Events
Primary point person for the logistical planning and executing all aspects of special event and conference activities, including but not limited to: event logistics, tracking sponsorships, mobile bidding and online auction sales, auction coordination, data collection, RSVPs, budget management, mailings and reporting. Works closely with the Galas event management firm.
Assist with staffing of volunteer committees, including meeting preparation, mailing deadlines, benchmarks, analysis, timelines and follow up responsibilities.
Plans and implements donor cultivation and stewardship events including VIP tours and open houses .
Other Duties as Needed/Expectations
Maintain positive communication (written and spoken) effectively while interfacing with fellow employees, donors, families and vendors.
Assist committee meetings by preparing presentation materials and serving as a resource to committee members.
Manage and complete special projects as assigned by DoDM.
Maintain level of involvement and awareness of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. programs and services in order to best represent the organization.
Effectively coordinate with vendors and consultants.
Represent **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. at relevant community events and trade shows.
Attend and assist all **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. sponsored events as required.
Required Education/Experience:
A bachelors degree in related field. 5 years of progressive and successful experience. Raisers Edge experience strongly preferred.

Required Skills/Knowledge:
Possess professional behavior and appearance at all times in representing **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. outwardly.
Ability to effectively interact with donor constituencies essential.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints as necessary.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships.
Flexible, adaptable, reliable and able to prioritize in a constantly changing environment.
Able to maintain strict level of confidentiality as well as demonstrated sensitivity, discretion, good judgment, diplomacy and maturity.

Proficiency in Raisers Edge or comparable fundraising database system. Comfortable, agile, curious and invigorated when working in a customer relationship management system. Expertise utilizing Microsoft Office a must including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of web-based management systems a plus.
