Development Associate

Job Description:

Reporting to the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons' Senior Director of Foundation Relations, the Development Associate for Foundation Relations will play a key role in helping to grow the foundation and corporate prospect pool, focusing on high level funding opportunities, particularly those that align with the institution's mission and priorities.

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three years of directly related experience, in corporate and foundation relations, development fundraising or a related field, preferably in a health care or higher education environment. Demonstrated ability to develop productive relationships with internal and external constituents such as donors, prospects, volunteers, medical leaders, and scientific faculty. Excellent ability to set priorities and perform in a fast-paced environment. Highly motivated self-starter, demonstrates excellent judgment and discretion, resilience, and with a high level of independent decision making. Excellent written and oral communication skills, plus interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills required.
