Position Summary: Full-time professional fundraising position responsible for the direction, organization, and implementation, of a comprehensive development program for raising private gifts to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. in support of the School of Medicine and the University of Kansas. The individual in this position is expected to embrace **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.u2019s stated core values u2013 passion for KU, partnership with donors, perpetual support for KU, and a people-centered approach u2013 and demonstrate support for them through professional interactions and activities. *Note: This position will be filled at the Associate Development Director or Development Director level, commensurate with the successful candidateu2019s experience and qualifications. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: Solicits outright and planned major gifts and coordinates preparation and development of major gift proposals supporting the School of Medicine. Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards leadership and major gift donors and prospects for the School of Medicine, working, as assigned, with the Executive Dean, Division Chiefs, Center and Institute Directors, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. staff, faculty, and volunteers. Collaborates with Health System development colleagues when appropriate. With the Development Director and Team Leader, crafts and deploys a strategic development plan. Develops and implements both annual and long-range goals, objectives, and strategies to maximize major gift support for the School of Medicine. Assists with major gift fundraising feasibility, identifying prospects, articulating giving opportunities, communicating with former residents, fellows, community members, and grateful patients, and helps to steward key donors. Solicits gifts for annual recognition in the Schoolu2019s Deans Club ($1,000 or more) with the goal of increasing annual gifts and donors. Position requires extensive time out of the office traveling to meet development goals. Shares supervision of a Development Assistant who provides administrative support for this constituent area. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Team Leader and other **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. leadership. Minimum Qualifications: Bacheloru2019s degree and at least three years of professional fundraising experience. Established professional with major gift fundraising experience in higher education or healthcare preferred. Excellent written, oral and inter-personal communications skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Must possess the ability to independently initiate, organize, and follow through with fundraising strategies. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and exercise excellent judgment. Must display intellectual curiosity and professional confidence to navigate a complex organization and garner trust from physician faculty. Department: Development
