The Medical and Health Sciences Foundation (
MHSF
) was officially created as the fundraising entity responsible for the joint philanthropic ventures of
UPMC
and the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences. The
MHSF
acts as the central source for patients, alumni, and friends to contribute to any clinical or research endeavor at either or both
UPMC
and Pitt.
The Medical and Health Sciences Foundation seeks a Development Associate for the Schools of the Health Sciences. This position is in direct collaboration with development staff to develop and implement comprehensive fund-raising strategies for direct identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of select individual prospects.
The incumbent will focus on gifts between $1,000-$50,000 across alumni from the health science schools, with a goal of increasing annual giving and moving selected portions of the portfolio into future major gifts.

2-3 years experience
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position
At least two years of direct fundraising/development experience with successful individual specific track record in one or more of the following competencies: individual gift solicitation/fundraising practices, gift cultivation, and/or volunteer management.
Bachelor’s degree required, a combination of education and experience may be substituted.
