The Development Coordinator role is an opportunity in the Greater Western Carolinas (GWC) Chapter team, one of the strongest JDRF chapters in the country, which will work
closely with the Senior Development Manager and Executive Director to increase the reach and impact of JDRF.
The position will also work closely with volunteer leadership throughout the Upstate region (Greenville, Spartanburg, etc.), as well as Asheville, NC.
The position is located in the Greenville, SC office.
The Development Coordinator will
organize, coordinate, implement and expand a variety of the Chapter’s
programs, events and development activities that build and strengthen links to potential and existing volunteers and donors and that grow the Chapter’s revenue
through corporate, individual, volunteer, and other community
Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of JDRF.
Understand the strategic direction and purpose of the organization and support the Chapter’s fundraising strategies and business needs.
Serve as a positive, passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable advocate for and representative of JDRF and the GWC Chapter.
Oversight and Management of event logistics for Greenville Gala, Upstate Walk and Asheville Walk.
Oversee all Outreach activities and events, including Bags of Hope, for the Upstate and Asheville regions.
Oversee and Manage Advocacy activities and events for the Upstate and Asheville regions.
Participate in the National Stewardship plan and Chapter-specific stewardship activities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with medical providers throughout the Upstate and Asheville regions, including physician practices and integrated healthcare systems.
Responsible for Auction Procurement (live and silent) for Greenville Gala.
Assist Senior Development Manager with Oversight of Gala and Walk Committees.
Assist Senior Development Manager with sponsorship solicitation for events.
Gift processing for Greenville and Asheville as needed and Centralized Data Processing Liaison for Greenville and Asheville.
Maintain and build relationships with Upstate and Asheville Chapter Board members.
Help develop annual plans for assigned activities, including goals, objectives and follow-up. Develop and deliver presentations as required, and provide input and suggestions.
Partner with the Senior Development Manager to identify, solicit, recruit and develop volunteers for chapter committees and regional advisory committees.
Assist Senior Development Manager with budget oversight for Asheville and Upstate events.
Respond to and follow through on inquiries, needs, complaints and/or issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
Maintain steady communication between team members and committee leaders.
Maintain a good understanding of JDRF’s mission and research cure therapeutics.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of fundraising experience or relevant business/volunteer experience.
Event planning/management experience preferred
Must be a pro-active self-starter while also being collaborative and an amazing team player!
Knowledge of administrative procedures, such as coordination of people and resources, planning, and resource allocation, as well as a
bility to develop presentations, reports, and business correspondence,
manage files and records, and coordinate other office procedures.
Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Active listening, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment.
Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
Experience with computer systems and databases.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel locally required.
Primary work location will be Greenville, SC, but must be able to travel to Asheville, NC up to 1 day per week, as needed.
Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.
