This is more of a research type of position. People with prior backgrounds working with grants would be ideal. They will be researching different charities that these affluent clients will be able to send their money too. They will be calling the charities and talking to financial advisors as well.
The Grants Team’s primary responsibility is to process grant recommendations submitted by clients to eligible public charities. Processing these recommendations entails entering grant information into our database, confirming an organizations’ tax exempt status and contact information and verifying the designation of the grant to ensure it meets Program Policies and IRS requirements on donor advised funds.
Grant Specialists also correspond with clients, investment advisors and charities when necessary. Qualified candidates will be comfortable answering incoming calls from current and potential clients, financial advisors and charitable organizations. This position will report to the Grants Team Manager and will have extensive exposure to skip level leadership.
Research and interface with charitable organizations to ensure their tax exempt eligibility to facilitate the grant making process Process online, mobile and paper grant recommendations using multiple operating systems Provide resourceful, effective problem analysis and resolution to clients Speak knowledgeably to clients, advisors and charities about recent legislation surrounding donor advised funds Coordinate complex grant arrangements such as international grants and grant agreements Support the Donor Relations team by taking inbound calls when needed
BA/BS degree preferred Employment experience (background in financial services. or the non-profit sector highly desired) Flexible and willing to work extended hours/overtime during the year-end peak season (mid- November to February) Quick and accurate data entry skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Superior customer service skills, particularly the ability to communication with affluent clients and their investment advisors Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
