New England Historic Genealogical Society
The New England Historic Genealogical Society seeks candidates for its Director of Annual Fund. Reporting directly to the VP of Development, the position plays an integral role on a small yet powerful development team. The Director of the Annual Fund will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, implementation, management, and assessing NEHGS's Annual Fund, including: unrestricted annual income, Special Projects, Jewish Heritage Center and sponsorships.
· Create and manage the Annual Fund business plan, including identification, solicitation and stewardship of new and increased donors, incentives, and multiple and varied solicitation vehicles tied to specific objectives and timelines;
· Collaborate with and mentor the Coordinator of Constituent Stewardship in order to execute and oversee gift processing and acknowledgements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Management of direct mail campaigns, website content, email solicitations, publication ads, and acknowledgment letters
II. Telemarketing management
III. Special Project and Event Sponsorship identification and reporting
IV. Annual Fund collateral production
V. Donor events
VI. Gift Processing, Research and Acknowledgments
Bachelors’ degree required; Masters’ degree preferred.
Seven to ten years of successful fundraising experience required. Exceptionally strong organization, communication, and writing skills must be demonstrated. The candidate must have an ability to work independently
within a team environment, the ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage staff. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of database management, gift processing and acknowledgment and report writing, be open to ideas, and have a high level of discretion and a knowledge of fundraising ethics.
