This position is in the Department of Medicine, Infectious Diseases. The position is located at Wohl Clinic, 2nd floor. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Responsibilities support Washington University’s Clinical Research Training Center (CRTC). Specializes in supporting the financial and grant-related activities of CRTC training and career development programs. Serves as a resource to program scholars, Principal Investigators, and staff. Ability to function with minimal supervision and with a high level of organizational skill to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, assists the CRTC Research Administrator, managers, and faculty with the following:
Grant and Financial Support
Orders scholars’ supplies and equipment
Provides support for FIS and Marketplace purchasing
Processes Travel Advances and Expense Reports
Administers billing for the CRTC re-charge accounts
Obtains quotes and estimates from internal and external vendors
Provides support and data for funding decisions and applicant selections
Assists with onboarding for new scholars, providing budget guidance, financial orientations and processing summer programs’ trainee intake processing
Serves as AIS and FIS backup for all CRTC accounts
Ensures that human and animal study protocols are obtained for the applicable proposal or awards and compiles delayed onset proposals for submission to NIH
Assists with internal and external reporting requests, including grant and progress report submissions (data collection, formatting Biosketches and Other Support documents, providing trainee data, and creating training grant data tables)
Works with Research Administrator to monitor and track scholar research expenses and appointments
Assists with the closure of grant accounts
Works with scholars, instructors, committee members, and other program coordinators to fulfill the goals and objectives of the training programs and CRTC
Assists with faculty, scholar, and staff questions
Generates and maintains documentation for program reference materials, standardized document templates, and distributes resources as needed
Updates scholar and alumni tracking database
Organizes and maintains electronic and hard copy files
Other duties as assigned by CRTC Directors and Managers
Master's degree and 3-5 years of experience in training grants administration or a related role;
Strong analytical and organizational skills;
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task;
Ability to learn quickly; Working knowledge of WU accounting and research administration systems - FIS, Marketplace, FOCUS, and similar programs;
Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite – especially Excel; Ability to work under tight deadlines;
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; Knowledge of grant management;
Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of faculty, students and staff;
Ability to exercise sound judgment in establishing priorities;
Willingness to work cooperatively as well as independently;
Responsive to change and innovation;
Follow established procedures and maintain very high degree of accuracy, even with interruptions;
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
The hiring range for this position is $20.36 to $25.94 per hour.

Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in accounting or related field or 7 years of combined education and related experience.
