Description of Position NNUu2019s School of Business is seeking a Dean to serve as a visionary leader to develop, articulate, and implement a compelling vision and strategy for the School of Business while ensuring continuous quality improvement and relevance to the business world through a transformational Christ-centered education. The Dean will have significant community involvement and fundraising responsibilities. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Create strong and lasting connections to and networks with relevant business communities and stakeholders Expand the internal and external resources necessary to support growth and increase the presence and reputation of the School of Business in the Northwest Region Utilize demonstrated entrepreneurial skills to lead the School of Business to regional and national prominence Possess an entrepreneurial spirit that balances innovation and exploration with the ability to take intelligent risks, work flexibly and productively with new ideas, and attract new resources in support of the schoolu2019s programs Orchestrate fundraising activities to support the School of Business Work with the Office of University Advancement to coordinate and enhance fundraising activities Employ effective interpersonal and team building skills to build the School of Business and eliciting support from internal and external constituencies Maintain accreditation status and programmatic growth Manage the School of Business revenue, operations, and expense Oversee all management and operations within the School of Business Organize, recruit, and oversee the Business Advisory Board and/or other stakeholder groups to support the School of Business Investigate new program development to grow the School of Business in online and face-to-face programs Leadership style which motivates and provides vision with a commitment to openness, collaboration and consensus Communication skills in speaking and writing including frequent, clear, and concise communications with internal and external constituencies Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated significant, successful entrepreneurial experience in business is essential. An earned doctorate (or equivalent terminal degree), is required. Possess and have demonstrated significant connections with and networks in relevant Business communities in Southwest Idaho and elsewhere. Experience in fundraising and advancement is required. A broad institutional and intellectual perspective and the strong administrative and decision-making abilities that are required for effective leadership and management in an institution of higher education. Significant familiarity with NNU and School of Business and the history and culture of the institution is preferred. A creative vision of program development and forward-looking strategies. The ability to develop and lead a diverse faculty and staff team. A Christian worldview (preferably shaped by the Wesleyan tradition), comfortable and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU, and be willing to help advance the Christian goals of the University. Compensation Salary will be determined by the background and experience of each applicant.
