Description JOB SUMMARY The Senior Director, Major Gifts and Civic Giving oversees and manages the day to day management and strategic direction of the individual giving team. This person is responsible for the oversight, planning and implementation of strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of all individual donors for the annual campaign. This role will personally be responsible for individual gifts of $5,000 , as well as key Civic partnerships. This role will strategically expand the organization\u2019s major gift and planned giving programs with a goal of significantly increasing the base of annual donors who give more than $5,000 on an annual basis. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of major gifts prospects and donors, including research, strategy oversight, proposal development and writing, coordination of follow-up to secure gift, and stewardship activities by tracking efforts through Raiser\u2019s Edge Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for gifts more than $5,000 from individuals to the annual fund Manage and supervise a team of two (Director, Individual Giving; Annual Giving Manager) Establish benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure results of all individual giving activities \u2013 including weekly and monthly in-person and phone call goals Ensure individual giving team is working closely with marketing team and grant writer to develop and manage consistent messaging to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications Work effectively with individual giving team to identify new donors and build strategies for engaging and encouraging donors to continue to give and give at higher levels Continue to build and grow the Conant Planned Giving Society with prospect research and building relationships with estate planning professionals Manage individual giving expense budget Other related duties as specified by Vice President of Resource Development Requirements KNOWLEDGE\/SKILLS REQUIRED Bachelor\u2019s Degree with five to seven years (7 \u2013 10 years) of fundraising experience to include demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating and securing gifts from high net worth individuals Experience working effectively with volunteer leaders and high profile individuals Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful fundraising strategies with long-term sustainability approach Demonstrated success in further developing and maintaining new fundraising programs and affinity groups Experience leading or managing a team Ability to tailor communication style to fit different motivation and communication styles of donors Strong interpersonal skills with great attention to detail, and strong with follow through and tracking Team oriented with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments, volunteer\/board members Ability to gather and analyze data Proficient in Raiser\u2019s Edge or comparable donor database Excellent organizational, writing and verbal communication skills Ability to think creatively, problem solve and manage conflict to resolve issues and challenges that arise Goal-oriented with ability to work independently, meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously and proven track record for securing gifts Ability to maintain high level of donor confidentiality Ability to travel throughout the Metro Atlanta area for donor meetings and events; some evening and weekends required Environment & Working Conditions Normal internal office environment with occasional need to travel to club locations within the Metro Atlanta area. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required.
