Description of Responsibilities:
Two Coordinator of Annual Giving positions available at the YMCA of Greater Rochester. One at the Eastside Branch in Penfield and one at the Westside Branch in Gates.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Coordinator of Annual Giving will be responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of the Eastside YMCA's annual giving program. The Coordinator will spend approximately 50 percent of their time managing the logistics and related activities for the year-round branch Annual Campaign. They will spend the other 50 percent of their time personally cultivating and soliciting existing and new Chairman's Roundtable donors (those who give annually $1,000 gifts), Triangle Society donors (those who make multi-year pledges of $5,000 ) and key branch sponsorships (those who give $500 gifts). Working closely with high-level branch volunteers and YMCA staff, the Coordinator must ensure that the monetary goal is met or exceeded each year. The Coordinator will have responsibility for working closely with the other branch coordinators, as needed. The Coordinator will serve as a coach to all the branch staff to ensure that best practices are followed and that fundraising is occurring throughout the entire year.
Bachelor's degree and two to five years of professional experience in development or a closely related field.
Demonstrated success in fund raising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation.
Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to present before large groups, interact with high-level donors, and to represent the Y in a professional and appealing manner to all prospective donors, volunteers, staff, and in the community.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a fast-paced team environment is critical.
The successful candidate must have a personal vehicle and the ability to travel locally on a consistent basis.
